Economic Anthropology opens your eyes to parallel ways of being that existed both before modern capitalism and that continue to simultaneously co-exist with it. In this episode we look at hunter-gatherers and tribal societies, and the push over time to ‘civilize’ them into peasant societies and - later - wage labourers. We also look at how money has historically been part of that civilizational project
